She was crowned Miss Venezuela USA – Latina 2001 and later, crowned Miss Universe 2002. She was also Queen of the Miami Heat Club for three years in a row. In 2002, she was awarded the Distinguished Achievement Award at the Art Basel Miami Beach. She made her acceptance speech in both English and Spanish. Miss Wynwood was received in the Miami International Airport by former president Obama during his campaign ,YES WE CAN in 2008 and he gave her a gold coin for her Miss Universe victory. After spending a year travelling the world as Miss Universe, she studied political science at FIU. Then served a successful year as Wynwood cultural representative to the Art Fairs around the world, expanding the international contacts developed into the realm of culture and diplomacy. In the early 2000’s Miss Wynwood turned to electoral politics. She was the first candidate elected from the third party movement of the Americas.
